Our machines require ctrl-alt-del to logon, and doing so brought up the use agreement that we have configured through policies, but after okaying that screen the black would reappear. I know I never had any issues like this using XP Pro or Home SP 1, 2, or 3. Now that all of Windows was gone, still no BIOS screen.We also had the other dead laptop after an update but that one was the famous DV6000. I allowed my warranty to lapse because of the bevy of ways I was still able to conduct my work and connect to the internet. Ask the community!

I am not convinced I presume that the connection of the LCD to the mother board is the culprit it went loose that is how they quickly fixed it.
