My Computer Doesnt Recognize My Camcorder

According to my device manager, the IEEE1394 port is working fine, and I even tried using it with my digital camera and it was fine. After many hours of fooling with the thing, I remembered that, quite some time ago, I let one of the driver update utilities update my FireWire Drivers because it said they Your camera will not appear as a drive in My Computer. I really need to get this video onto my computer somehow.
